Mission statement

Friends of the Coliseum is a Texas non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation and redevelopment of Corpus Christi Memorial Coliseum. The Coliseum was dedicated as a memorial to the 400 men and women from Nueces County who sacrificed their lives in World War II.

Friends of the Coliseum believe that the building should be restored and readapted so that it can continue serving the community.

Friends of the Coliseum believes that Memorial Coliseum is a public asset. A well-planned strategy for redevelopment and adaptive reuse will result in a positive economic effect for the entire city.

Friends of the Coliseum further believes that any plans affecting the existence of Memorial

Coliseum should be put to a vote of the citizens of Corpus Christi.
